About Me

Hello!

My name is Kristen and welcome to my blog! So what’s up with this Little Speck thing? Well, I have always wanted to be a part of something that makes a positive impact on the world, but I feel that I am too small and incapable of pursuing such a grand endeavor on my own. I feel this blog is my opportunity to share and connect with the world out there and in return, I hope to not feel so small. You will find blog posts here about the 3 main things that interest me in life; food, fitness, and being a friend of planet Earth.

Food

I love to cook and am always experimenting in the kitchen! For 7 years I have operated a successful personal chef service, which has taught me how to be very creative in the kitchen. I rarely follow recipes or measure things. In the recipes I will post here, most measurements will be rough estimates. But I encourage you to not get hung up on the recipe and just have fun in the kitchen.

Fitness

Fitness junkie is a great way to describe myself. I  crave physical activity and when I can’t participate  in it, I get grumpy. Yoga is a big part of my life,  both as a student and as a teacher. In addition to  yoga, I also teach YogaDance! In my free time I  also swim with my local Master’s swim team, run,  and even partake of fitness pole dance classes. And  yes, you did read that correctly. I encourage you to  find some sort of fitness activity that you enjoy doing and do it because it is fun!

My friend, planet Earth

Our planet is such an amazing place. It is almost mind boggling to think how we are actually existing on this blob of water, rock, and air that is floating in outer space. We must protect our home as it is the only home we have. This blog is not meant to be preachy, and I am by no means perfect, but I hope to offer tidbits of advice or suggest products that will be better for the health of our planet. Just think, if everyone on Earth changed just one thing they did every day, we would live in a much better place. This issue connects us all together as it has nothing to do with politics, race, religion, or anything else, it is simply a human issue.

Thank you for coming along with me on this journey!
